“I know you.”
Just before the Sunday service a couple of weeks ago, Brian introduced himself to a newcomer. “Hi, my name is Rafael,” the young man said, “and I know you.” Rafael had come with a friend from work who has been attending our church. “How do you know me?” Brian asked. “From MCJ (Monroe County Jail).” Rafael had been released and was visiting that Sunday. Although Rafael has another church that he calls home, it was encouraging to see him in fellowship.
Pray for many more inmates to make the transition to Christian fellowship on the outside. Ask the Lord to prepare our church for assimilating inmates. Praise God that Dave will be taking more organizational leadership in the jail ministry. We believe this will help keep people in our church better informed of what’s going on.
